'Ultimate!' Definition: Being the best, most extreme, achievable or imaginable of its kind. It's certainly a word that when used in naming food gets you salivating at the prospect that you are about to experience a taste sensation of epic proportions! Imagine my disappointment when, having ordered the self-titled 'Ultimate Bacon Sandwich' at Edinburgh Airport on Monday, I was presented with something akin to a Pigs skin graft between two slices of day old Mothers Pride! Still, what do you expect for £6.95!? Ultimate let down!
|
Fortunately the Bacon Sandwich was the only blip on an otherwise fabulous (albeit short) trip out to Spain courtesy of Foremost Golfs partnership with Your Golf Travel! Myself and 12 other Professionals were treated like VIPs at the PGA Catalunya Resort which is a little under an hour from Barcelona! If the resort sounds familiar it held the European Tour Final Qualifying last year. The courses are magnificent, my golf on occasions however was not and definitely didn't do them justice. Day one saw us tackle the tougher Stadium Course in a North v South Team Challenge. My own Match ended ALL SQUARE but 2 Birdies in the last 4 Holes by our opponents meant we let slip a winning position. It didn't prove costly as the North Team comfortably Triumphed 3.5 - 0.5. The entire complex just oozes quality and is an absolutely perfect destination for a Golf Holiday. Out with the main hotel they have another smaller block of accommodation called 'The Caddy Rooms' which is where we stayed. From there you can get to anywhere on the resort using your golf Buggy which are all stored underneath the property! |
The Range Facilities are also amazing from the double ended Driving Range to the vast Shortgame Area. The second course is called the Tour Course and whilst it is far from easy it does present a less demanding challenge. All in all you could say it provides the 'Ultimate' Golf Trip venue!! |
|
The main reason for the trip was to not only see the Catalunya complex but to also network with the main guys from the Your Golf Travel Team, share ideas from other Professionals, and learn more about how we can provide you, my Golfers, with the Golf Trips to some of the best venues/destinations in the world for value you just wouldn't get doing it on your own. One trip I will definitely be looking to give you guys the chance to get involved with is back to PGA Catalunya in November for the YGT Pro-Am. Stay tuned for more details on that! One thing all the Professionals on the trip agreed on is that if the UK could be guaranteed a climate like the last few days in Spain (25° every day!!) then Golfers and Clubs and the sport in general wouldn't be facing their current challenges!

But while I can't magic up some sunshine I am endeavouring to add as much enjoyment, service and value to your Membership here. So it was nice to get some really good feedback from a Member the other day! He was making reference to my latest ISP ‘Loyalty’ Membership. The customer in question took the time to say to me that he`d been reflecting on his recent purchases and was amazed at the value he had received. Saying ‘You know I was just thinking there, by buying my Clubs from you I`ve had 2 FREE Custom Fitting sessions, been able to trial those Clubs several times on my Golf Course, use them while I`m waiting on my new ones to be delivered, and not only was the Price as good as anything Online I`ve also had a FREE Shortgame Lesson and received a FREE Dozen Balls that I was needing to buy anyway! Plus it was all on my doorstep and a big chunk of what I had to pay was on my account anyway!’ So he asked me what it would`ve cost if he had had to pay for all the extras!? In short the answer was £133! (Custom Fit Session = £30 x2, 30 Minute Lesson = £30, Dozen TaylorMade TP5`s = £43) All for choosing to spend his £500 with me!

ISP - ‘I Support’ Program |
So if you haven`t thought about my ISP Program then don`t worry as you can still sign up now.
• To become an ‘I Support’ Partner all you need to do is Invest £100 into your Shop Account (This can be done as part of your first purchase) • With that you will receive a Special ‘ISP’ Poker Chip Marker declaring you an ‘I Support’ Partner, 200 ISP Points and the choice of 1 of the following (FREE Custom Fit/Club Analysis Session – FREE Yardage Gapping Session – FREE 30 Minute Lesson) • Thereafter, for every Full Ticket Price Purchase you make you will accumulate 2 Points for every Pound (You will receive 1 Point for any ‘Shop Reduced’ Ticket Price Purchase – *Manufacturer Promotions will qualify for as ‘Full Ticket Price’) • Once you accumulate 1000 ISP Points you will be entitled to one of the following rewards: A 45 Minute Golf Lesson - £25 Shop Credit – 1 Dozen Balls of Your Choice – HALF PRICE Re-Gripping. • ISP Points accumulated over 1000 can be ‘Cashed In’ at any time for the equivalent of 2.5p Per Point (aka 5p for every 2 Points!) in Shop Credit. • There will be ‘Exclusive’ ISP Promotions available to only ISP Partners where you will receive extra Points. Here is an example: £100 to Sign Up = 200 Points + Introductory Session of your Choice. First Purchase is New Irons @ £700 - £100 Shop Credit = £600 = 1200 Points + Initial 200 Points = 1400 Points. This person can now either ‘Cash In’ and claim £35 in Shop Credit (1400 x 2.5p) or A 45 Minute Golf Lesson - 1 Dozen Balls of Your Choice – HALF PRICE Re-Gripping. Points are then Zero`d and you start accumulating again. |
If you can say ‘I Support’ my Professional – then ‘I Support’ you back! All ISP Partners Accounts will be highlighted to track the Point Accumulation so it is important to note that if you are on the Loyalty Scheme and want any transactions to count towards your Point Total that you make whoever is serving you aware that you would like that sale against your account, for instance small purchase like Tees, Drinks, Confectionary, Hire Items, etc. |
|
I also had another scenario that I thought I`d mention that highlights why choosing to purchase all your Golf Equipment from me makes the most sense instead of shopping around and picking up different things from here there and everywhere in an attempt to save a few pounds, and it`s not something that people tend to think about when they are in the mood and the market for something shiney and new. This story doesn`t have the happiest of beginnings as it involves one of our Members having all his Golf Clubs STOLEN!!
|
Anyone who has had to deal with Insurance Companies for anything will know it`s a hassle and they will typically have a lot of protocol to go through before you get anywhere near a full pay out. So for a kick off, when my Member first had his Clubs stolen, and before any Insurance Claim was in motion I was able to give him equipment so he could at least still play golf. Once he got the ball rolling with his Insurance Company he discovered he would need Proof of Purchase for EVERYTHING he was Claiming for. He called me and explained thinking it would be almost impossible to do, as many of the items were years old. But within a few minutes and a few clicks I was able to bring up his full Purchase History, pull off the individual transaction numbers and print all the receipts he needed for his Claim.

[* END *] Urethane cover? So what... |
A common phrase we hear here in the shop is: “It’s round and white, it can’t be that different”. The truth is that every single golf ball is unique in some way – whether it’s the ball’s core, layers or dimple pattern – but there is one thing that all premium balls have in common… |
Try Urethane with the Dx3 Urethane Like all tour-level golf balls, the Wilson Staff Dx3 Urethane boasts a Urethane cover, which sets the bar for cover materials. Urethane – a soft and flexible polymer – will give you the highest possible spin rates combined with the best feel; benefits you will really notice when hitting chip and pitch shots. However, if you like to play lower flighted chip-and-runs you might prefer other options in Wilson Staff’s range that are made with Ionomer covers. While this type of cover doesn’t generate as much spin, it is slightly more durable and offers a cheaper alternative. |
|
| As you can see on these 50-yard pitch shots, the extra spin from the Urethane cover ball on the right helps it to stop much quicker than the Ionomer cover ball on the left, which rolls out on landing. |
