Fortunately I can again say it was great to see lots of names featuring in the prizes that are reaping the rewards of the new equipment they have invested in. Duncan, Steven, Mark, Andy, Peter & William have all invested in either Irons, Fairways or Drivers recently which are clearly helping them play better. Nice to also see Chris & George reduce their handicap following their recent Lessons. However I would just like to pay special mention to Brian Johnston who followed his Friday Lesson with a significant cut on his Handicap on the Saturday. Brian decided to finally come to see me after a spell of poor golf for him which had seen is Handicap slip up to its highest in over 4 years. Brian`s biggest frustration was a loss of distance and leaking the ball too often to the right. Fortunately, with the use of the GCQuad Launch Monitor we were quickly able to identify where those symptoms were stemming from. The images below show that his swing had become somewhat of a glancing blow (Swing cutting across the target line to the left, clubface aiming right of target and the strike out the toe of the club). Once we highlighted this to Brian, encouraged a slightly different sequence of movements on the thru-swing then Brian very quickly was able to deliver the club to the ball in a far more efficient way. So he got the double whammy of better direction AND distance!
