The residents of Lewes clearly do things differently on Guy Fawkes night! While the rest of the country are toasting marshmallows on the bonfire, the good people of Lewes are preparing to tuck into some Smoked Salmond! I have to say the effort that went into making those effigies of Scotland's then First Minister were very impressive and I`m sure Frank Sidebottom would have been proud of the paper mashie craftsmanship!
Perhaps we should be just glad it wasn`t an effigy of Charles Kennedy that they had to create because I`m pretty sure that would`ve still been burning like a Christmas Pudding as we speak! I wonder if Nicola Sturgeon will get a similar sinder-ella moment!? It certainly will be a lot easier to come up with a flammable look-a-likey, all you need to do is put some lipstick on a bail of hay!!
Still if it`s a better way of ensuring Scotland gets more embers of Parliament then I`m all for it! Although if it requires burning them to a crisp first then will that mean they are part of the Crema-Tory-ium?
The events in Lewes even made it onto BBC`s The Apprentice, where Alan Sugar dismissed this week's Team Loser with "you remind me of Alex Salmond, because this week you`re fired!"
Strictly Come Dancing got in on the act too when they pretended to give the boot to another gregarious, exaggerated, paper mashie creation!.....what?....that was actually a real person!?......oh, my apologies! It turns out that was Alison Hammond (?? - Richards twin sister!?) who failed to find top gear this week and was voted off the show in week SEVAAAAN!
Fat Bottomed Girls were out in force over on ITV when the curse of the song choice played it`s sadistic part in the X Factor Results. Paul Akister (and the X Factor producers) proved once again that you should never mess with Freddy around Halloween time as his rendition of "Don`t Stop Me Now!" in Queen week had quite the opposite effect and he was left waiting for the Hammer To Fall on his time on the show. He knew he was Under Pressure when Simon Cowell said "You Don`t Fool Me", he begged the judges to "Save Me" but ultimately he knew they had to Play The Game and unfortunately for him The Miracle didn`t happen so if he turns up on next week's show it`ll be A Kind Of Magic but more likely he`ll just be The Invisible Man. Either that or I`m Going Slightly Mad!?

I know for a fact, from the reaction of a few people last weekend, that you think I`m mad for having Christmas Decorations up in the shop already!! Personally I agree with you! Christmas in my world starts about the 23rd of December but the "Crazy Christmas Culture" of the high street and advertisers kicked in a while ago and I`m just trying to do my bit for you guys to make Christmas as stress free as possible!
