Dire relief?

It's also hard to swallow that 2 of the Seasons 4 Majors should've been played by now! Last weekend was meant to be the USPGA Championship at Harding Park GC. I suppose there is some good news in the fact that it has been Re-Scheduled to 3-9th August.

That void was made up for, kinda (was it?) as we were treated to our first 'LIVE' Golf in 7/8 Weeks with the Charity Skins Game that I mentioned last week!

Did you watch it? I did and I'll be honest.......I'd actually rather watch a grainy, doesn't fit the screen properly repeat of the 2000 Honda Classic!

For a great cause!? - It was! Entertaining!? - Not so much! I didn't think so anyway, and I know my feelings are shared by lots of people. Like the 'Mickelson v Woods - THE MATCH' the Americans seem to always miss a trick (or the vital ingredient) of some much-needed entertainment (or Banter/Craic as we might call it) to fluff out the obvious lulls in action that happen in a 1-Group Golf event.

All the Players involved seem like really nice guys, but (perhaps McIlroy is the exception?) they certainly don't have the personalities to carry an event like that on their own. I was surprised at Matt Wolff, maybe I was expecting Gloss or Metallic Wolff!!? They really needed some On Course help to nurture a bit of 'Fun' and 'Flavour' to the intended rivalry - it was meant to be a Match-Up after all! A walking Commentator with a bit of entertaining and edges chat would've helped. Playfully Poking fun at the Players and maybe even orchestrating a bit of chirp between the Players too would've added to the viewing experience!

A name that has been thrown up a lot by the people I've spoken to has been David Feherty, and I know that they had geographical & logistical constraints on putting the production together, but you're not telling me that every one of the crew stayed in the Seminole ZipCode!? My choice would've been someone like Comedian Kevin Hart!

The Seminole Course was also a little underwhelming in my opinion, but as some of my Colleagues have said perhaps Stands & Crowds would've framed it in a much better light!?

Let's hope the next 'LIVE' Golf we all experience is with our own Clubs on our own Course!?
