With all the other Home Nations & Eire back playing Golf I'm getting that frustrated vibe from everyone I speak to that they feel we are being treated like the kid who's mum won't let them go and play 'Curby', 'Kick-The-Can' or 'Sudgers' (or Soldiers if you stayed in the posh precinct!) in the street with the neighbouring kids! But instead are forced to stay in and do their Algebra & Latin Homework - none of which will be of any use when they get released back into the big wide world! One thing I have learned since being stuck 'Solitary Covidment' - Never believe a Journalist! (Or as I like to call them 'Dicat Ineptias'......huh, I guess that Latin did come in handy!?) Their speculative 'stab in the dark' statement that Golf could return on the 11th May was about as close to the mark as a shank in a Nearest The Pin Challenge! But in typical Journalist Style, I guess their justification would be something along the lines of 'The 11th May date was when we'll find out that there will be an announcement on the 18th that would let us know that on the 25th we would inform you of our plan to definitely maybe tell you that Golf might return by June!......and inhale!!!!' I guess we've waited this long, but it does seem ironic that to ensure the NHS have less cases to deal with that we are the ones that need 'More Patience!' Still, we should all take the positives! And let's be honest, there are not many Years that we can get to June and claim not to have lost a single Golf Ball or missed our Buffer once! That's got to be a first? (Although I did hear a story that a Member lost 3 Balls whilst CHIPPING out the back of their house! I smell a Short Game Lesson opportunity.......and maybe a Sleeve of Balls too!?) |
