Well, it`s been said before but......the nights are fare drawn in noo!

Hot on the heels of March 2020 being the longest Month in living memory, as it seemed to last for about 67 days! We are unfortunately now also past the Longest Day of the Year too. But, like the daylight calendar, it does also seem like we are at least ‘over the hump’ in our plight against this Pandemic as aspects of life seem to be tip-toeing back to some sort of normal! Oh how I`ve missed Football pundits & Managers moaning about decisions that Officials got wrong and controversy! We`ve just got over COVID-19 and already we`ve had a serious outbreak of VARS! ‘Black Lives Matter’ but apparently not as much as a missed Handball that led to a Goal! Still, at least it`s nice to have some ‘LIVE’ games to watch. Up here in Scotland it`s not even ‘when is football going to start’, we still can`t even decide what League Teams are going to be playing in! I think the SFA must be in the same WhatsApp Group chat that some of our Members use to try and arrange who`s playing in what group every week! Which seems like trying to herd Tadpoles at times! |
‘Return To Retail’ Speaking of which, with the Professional Shop poised to be allowed to fully open its doors again on Monday I want to take the opportunity to stress that, whilst I can`t wait to finally welcome you all back in to the Shop Floor area, I also really need you to appreciate and respect the safety measures and guideline requests that we will need to layout, as it seems our current ‘1-In, 1-Out Check In Pod’ is starting to be flaunted with groups of 3`s trying to squeeze into the very confined space we created for the very purpose of encouraging isolation. So as we move to 4 People on the Shop floor at one time, can you please be mindful of that when looking to enter. Have a glance in the front door before walking in, or open and ask. We want you all to visit, but we want to also keep you all safe. |
Because let's be honest, following the breaking news from the PGA Tour last week, it`s safe to say Golfers are not immune to this! Nick Watney became the first Tour Player to be tested Positive for Coronavirus, and Cameron Champ has become the latest. Both Players immediately have to withdraw from their respective Events and quarantine for a 14 Day Period. I`m sure the PGA Tour will be ramping up measures, and like I`ve done above, reminding everyone of their responsibilities. But it seems that it`s not so much what the Players do in and around the Tournament that needs tightening, it`s how they are going about their lives away from the venue. With many of them attending Bars & Restaurants in the local area. If the Locals aren`t allowed to come to watch you play, then pretty much the same applies to you Players going to even more confined indoor spaces and mingling with them! |

Despite the ‘Distance Debate’ cropping up these last few weeks again with ‘Bulked Up Bryson Bombing It’ it was really interesting to see that it was another of the Tours relatively shorter hitters, Webb Simpson, who came out on top of the pile at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. The course with the famous Lighthouse and Tournament with the even more recognisable ‘Shortbread Tin’ Tartan Blazer!
Simpson fired 5 Birdies in his last 7 Holes to pipe the Mexican Abraham Ancer by a single stroke. The previous week`s winner, Daniel Berger, was in the mix again and finished Tied 3rd a shot further back. |

It is only a few weeks until the European Tour kicks off its 7 Tournament UK Tour, the first of which is the British Masters at Close House in Hexham. |
Competitive Golf was announced by the Club to make a return here at DGC on July 12th with the Jimmy Paterson Trophy.
Work is being done in the background to re-jig the remainder of the Season and see how many of the Clubs Trophies we can compete for. There is an obvious desire to ensure that all the Club Championships and Seasonal Meetings are completed – so all I can say is ‘Stay Tuned’ for more information. |

It's prize draws like these that we really enjoy running for our customers. Our friends at Titleist have given us one of these limited edition cart bags to give away as a prize to one lucky customer. To get your name in the hat, all you need to do is buy a dozen Titleist golf balls from us (see our website for T&Cs). It's as simple as that! At the end of the promotional period, we'll randomly draw out one lucky winner. Good luck. |

We're big advocates of finding a golf ball that offers you exactly what you're after - whether that's distance, feel etc - and sticking with it. TaylorMade has been making huge strides in the golf ball market for a few years now and, with this fantastic offer in place, we certainly recommend giving the 2020 range a try. If you buy a dozen TaylorMade golf balls (certain models only - click the button for full T&Cs), we will give you a FREE 2-ball sleeve to try. If you end up disliking the ball, return the unopened dozen for a full refund! |

Fashion has a greater place in golf now than ever before. From Major Champions to Sunday Stablefords, we’re seeing more and more unique, exciting looks on the golf course. But these styles aren’t restricted to the fairways… |
| FootJoy Contour Casual golf shoes | With incredible performance advances in recent years, spikeless golf shoes have become commonplace on every course and in every clubhouse during the summer months.
Now that spikeless shoes can offer the same on-course performance as spiked golf shoes, perhaps it’s unsurprising.
|
| FJ Flex golf shoes | When you can have shoes that are comfortable and look good wherever you go, why not?
FootJoy’s most recent shoe ranges reflect that, with shoes like the FJ Flex offering a more trainer-like look on the course or in the streets, and even shoes like the Contour Casual providing a smart, spikeless alternative to traditional golf shoes. |
