Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you all had a good Festive period and enjoy me being your "First Foot"? Having just made the move north permanent on Wednesday and started here at Portlethen on Thursday I'm really looking forward to hearing my first "fit"!!

To help me be prepared someone got my a book on Doric translations for Christmas, it was called "50 Phrases of 'Eh!?'"

As I said, the doors to Arkwright's opened on Thursday but the 3 days prior to that was a frenzy of boxing, packing, humphing (technical term!), loading and delivering. At one point I thought someone had mistaken me for the deceased American Rapper TuPac Amura Shakur! But it turned out I was in such a flap all they had said was "Did you pack aw'that the noo!?"

And I now know that Shrink Wrapping is industrial cling film and not washing Tinchy Strider at 60 degrees to try and turn him into Tiny Tempa!

My packing and wrapping boxes the last few days must've looked like Crocodile Dundee wrestling and alligator!! So much so that my backs now more crooked than a Backbench MP! And I guess all the in and out of the wind and rain has left me a little dehydrated and weatherbeaten so I'll say this now, no I'm not wearing lipstick!! Although I do look like I've been dookin for chips!!

The upshot of all that is the shop looks more like the IKEA warehouse than a Golf Shop at the moment so hopefully you guys can bear with me a few days until I get things into some sort of order.

Also it'll take me a little time to get up to speed with all the systems and regulations, not to mention the multitude of names I'm going to learn! But if I'm good at one thing it's remembering people's names! Just ask hingmy......eh, Billy, Bob, ROBERT! Yeah, just ask Robert and she'll tell you how good I am at faces and names! If you want to know my secret then there's a picture of my "System" above!!

It was very nice of Eastwood to give me a wonderfully typical West Coast send off with some of the wettest and wildest weather we've had in a while, and it's was equally as nice of Portlethen to continue that weather to help me acclimatise to life in the North better!!! I'm starting to think I'm a jinx!? No sooner am I announced as the new Portlethen Professional does the Oil Price plummet!! I'm not saying I'm unlucky but I once found a rabbits foot with a verruca!!

So with very little golfing action to report and the only real shop action is me buzzing from box to box like a young Jim Bett, I'll keep this weeks blog short and sweet and I can promise that in the coming weeks the Newsletter will be better.........erm, well longer at least!!

However I won't go without mentioning that there are still Tickets available for the Michael Buble Tribute Night on Saturday 7th February! So if you haven't managed out to the Club in the New a Year yet there is still time to pick up some tickets, but don't put it off too long as they are getting snapped up fast. You really don't want to be stuck at "Home" that night, and you certainly don't want Margaret asking "Quando, Quando, Quando!!" Will you be buying your tickets!!

On the subject of products and shop I will be bringing lots of stock with me from my previous Shop and thought, 'what better way to start my reign than with a "JANUARY SALE"!! Who doesn't love a bargain!?'

It will no doubt take me a couple of days to get the Shop laid out so Saturday 10th January will be the day that starts.

However my intention is to have a proper Grand Opening Day at the beginning of February, so I'll keep you posted on both the date and content of that day.
